No surprises on the first day of the European Badminton Championships

The best male and female badminton players and teams from all over Europe start to compete in the event, which has been dominated by the Danish in recent years.

Players have developed today their full potential by demonstrating, once again, being the best in Europe. Thrilling matches and exciting points, but with predictable winners.

The individual men's matches were raised with the applause of the public. One of the stars, the Danish Jan O Jorgensen, debuted in the championship as he hasn't been seeded and settled his game overwhelmingly.

All pairs of mixed doubles have already participated in competition. The brothers Sam Magee and Chloe Magee (Ireland) have fought until the end in a close match, against the number two seed of the competition, the Danish Mathias Christiansen and Christinna Pedersen: 21-18 and 21-16.

Robin Tabeling - Cheryl Seinen (Nederland) have stood up to the English number three seed Marcus Ellis - Lauren Smith, forcing the 3rd set; 17-21, 21-11, 21-15.

The previous phases have been carried out as expected. The first matches of the day began at 11:00, ending around 19:00.

Tomorrow will be the turn for men's and women's doubles. Unfortunately, we won't see the two top teams, the Danish and favorite pair of the title Mathias Boe - Carsten Mogensen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl - Christinna Pedersen. They announced that they won't be participating only a few days before the start of the competition.
