However, Axelsen proved to be the King of the court and overwhelmed his rival with a superior game 21-8 21-7. In semifinals met the best shuttlers of Europe trying to earn their golden tickets for the finals

The evening started with a clash of champions. Current one Rajiv Ouseph has to display all he has to beat 2014 champion Jan O Jorgensen in three sets. Both players showed the same level at the beginning of the first set. Although Ousheph wasn’t quite precise in some rallies, he took the lead at the interval 11-8. Jorgensen could get close and even overtake Ouseph 15-12. Then, both competitors fought every point fiercely, but Ouseph got most of them and won the set 21-17.

Carolina Marín on her way to becoming four-time champion in his hometown

Local star Carolina Marín aim for her fourth consecutive European title. Today, she beat Dane Mia Blichfeldt in two sets 21-17 21-16. A sold-out arena was involved cheering and supporting the Spanish shuttler.

Carolina Marín signs autographs to her fans

Carolina Marín will personally attend all her fans who accompany her on her way to the continental title at the European Badminton Championships. Marín will sign autographs starting at 6.30 pm this afternoon at the Iberdrola stand in the Fan Zone, located near the Palacio de los Deportes.

We have thrilled to all the matches in the Carolina Marín Sports Hall

Viktor Axelsen (Denmark) beated his mate Rasmus Gemke joined two of the seeds of the championship early in the afternoon. The match started with long rallies and open shots to both sides of the court, but Gemke couldn’t stand before the current nº 1 of the world. Axelsen won 21-11and 21-16.
